1935s Twitter

This is the device installed in the summer of 1935 in London streets, railway stations and other public places. It is called as "Notificator" and for a small charge people can write their message and put it on a public display like a small text message. This message will remain in the box for two hours. Doesn't this sounds like Twitter?
